Aruna Shields to Bare All In Second Hindi Films

Shields plays Neera Singh, an agony aunt columnist who discovers her husband is cheating on her. Also starring Prashant Narayanan, another Brit Asian actress Lucy Hassan and Naved Aslam, the film is written and directed by Pravesh Bhardwaj and produced by Manu S Kumaran and Tutu Sharma.

She was seen in a bold avatar in the movie Prince opposite Vivek Oberoi; now British actress Aruna Shields is ready to go nude for her second Hindi film. She accepted the daring role after many rejected it. It is for the film Mr Singh Mrs Mehta that the director Pravesh Bhardwaj wanted an actress who could pose naked for a crucial scene. And according to a daily almost sixty actresses were approached for the role but all of them simply turned it down. So, what is it in the role that so many actresses found it hard to do?

According to Pravesh, the character Neera is trapped in middle class morality and is a muse for a nude painting, which changes her life and then she is not even bothered about the world once the painting becomes public. “It is a tough journey towards self-discovery,” says the director, adding that none of the actresses were willing to see his viewpoint.
