World's Simplest Smartphone Nokia N9

We’ve seen the Nokia N9 in pictures and today we’ve discovered some of its most important specs and features. At least we’re hoping the N9 will run MeeGo as that might be the platform to go for when it comes to Nokia’s near future. Symbian^3 has been spotted in various leaks and demonstrations so far but it just doesn’t seem like Nokia has what it takes to sustain a long fight against rivals when it comes to Symbian OS.

A Nokia prototype that was searchable in Nokia's internal database. The device seems to be known as the RM-680 internally which makes it quite different from another slider phone we spotted a few weeks ago which went by the RM-626 label. Also, design-wise, it was more of an N8 with a slider keyboard. This one has slightly different design, which we think looks better.

The N9 will have a 4-inch OLED display that's capable of WVGA resolution, up from the nHD displays that Nokia's been using. The device will also utilize a 1 GHx Snapdragon CPU, 512 MB RAM, 1 GB ROM, and 64 GB internal storage that can be augmented with a micro SDHC card.
