Abbott Laboratories Said It Is Recalling Similac Brand Powder Infant Formulas Distributed In The U.S

Abbott has been named to the Top 10 on DiversityInc's list of the top 50 companies for diversity, our seventh consecutive year on the list. Abbott also has been named No. 6 on DiversityInc's list of the Top 10 Companies for Asian Americans and No. 7 on the list of the Top 10 Companies for Executive Women.Abbott Laboratories is recalling some of its Similac-brand powder infant formulas in the U.S., Puerto Rico, Guam and some parts of the Caribbean.Georgia Agriculture Commissioner Tommy Irvin says Abbott is recalling the products because the formula produced in one of the company's manufacturing plants could contain a small common beetle.He says infants who drink formula containing the beetles or their larvae could experience symptoms of gastrointestinal discomfort and refuse to eat. Irwin says if the symptom persist for more than a few days, parents should call a doctor.
