Samsung Galaxy Tab has turned up on Amazon UK with a price tag of £680 with VAT, or about $1,063. The price is significantly higher than the Apple iPad, as predicted earlier. The iPad model lists at the equivalent of $827 after tax at Apple UK’s online store. The Galaxy tab had appeared on Amazon Germany for 799 Euros, a few days ago.
The Samsung Galaxy Tab is not yet available to pre-order and the site hasn’t listed any delivery date. But the device will be coming equipped with a 7 inch touchscreen WSVGA display and it comes with Android 2.2 Froyo, Bluetooth 3.0 and a 3G data radio. It features a 3 megapixel camera on the back and a VGA video camera on the front for making video calls. It will also feature a number of built in Google services, which includes Google Navigation, Google Goggles and Google Places. It will be using a 1 GHz ARM Cortex A8 CPU, which matches the iPad in terms of clock speed.
It is a matter to be seen whether the Samsung Tab is going to be popular or not with the higher price tag, since the less costly iPad comes with a 9.7 inch display. However, the iPad lacks extras such as Bluetooth 3.0, front and rear cameras and built-in memory card slot. The Desire HD sticks with the 1GHz Qualcomm Snapdgragon 8255 processor from the Desire - matched by the 1GHz ARM Cortex A8 chip in the Samsung Galaxy S. The Apple iPhone 4 uses Apple's own A4 chip, which is also based on a 1GHz ARM Cortex A8 core but is underclocked.

Part of the TouchWiz interface are seven home screens. To see the different home screens, touch and slide your finger to the left or right to view any of the seven panels. Each screen can be customized with widgets, shortcuts to your favorite apps, or folders that contain shortcuts and files.
