Acai Berry Relative Of The Blueberry

The acai berry is an inch-long reddish, purple fruit. It comes from the acai palm tree (Euterpe oleracea), which is native to Central and South America. It is a relative of the blueberry, cranberry, and other dark purple fruits.


This is a high energy berry that comes from a special Amazon palm tree that is harvested in the rainforests of Brazil. Acai is a fruit having a short post harvest period, before it tends to deteriorate. That is why Acai is available only as juice fruit pulp outside Brazil. This juice and pulp are used in numerous juice blends, sodas, smoothies and other beverages.


The açaí palm is a species of palm tree in the genus Euterpe cultivated for their fruit and superior hearts of palm. Its name comes from the European adaptation of the Tupian word ïwasa'i, '[fruit that] cries or expels water'. Global demand for the fruit has expanded rapidly in recent years, and açaí is now cultivated for that purpose primarily. The closely-related species Euterpe edulis (jucara) is now predominantly used for hearts of palm.

Audie Murphy Soldier Of World War II

Life in the Murphy household was poor and very hard. Growing up, Audie picked cotton and became very skilled with a rifle to hunt small game to help feed the family. Audie's father left the family in 1940 and his mother died in 1941, so at age 17 both of his parents were gone, leaving Audie to care for his younger siblings.


Audie Murphy was the most highly decorated American soldier of World War II. Diminutive, self‐reliant, and ambitious to escape his hardscrabble Texas origins, Murphy joined the army in 1942 at the age of seventeen. He soon proved himself more than equal to the demands of combat soldiering, fighting his way unwounded through Sicily and Italy. By 1944, Murphy had won several medals and the offer of a battlefield commission, which at first he refused.


Audie Leon Murphy (June 20, 1925 – May 28, 1971) was the most decorated American soldier of World War II and a celebrated movie star for many years in the post-war era, appearing in 44 films. He also found some success as a country music composer.

In 1938, she emigrated to the United States and continued her studies at the Art Students League in New York. Though her beginnings were as an engraver and painter, by the 1940s she had turned her attention to sculptural work, for which she is now recognized as a twentieth-century leader. Greatly influenced by the influx of European Surrealist artists who immigrated to the United States after World War II, Bourgeois’s early sculpture was composed of groupings of abstract and organic shapes, often carved from wood. By the 1960s she began to execute her work in rubber, bronze, and stone, and the pieces themselves became larger, more referential to what has become the dominant theme of her work—her childhood.


Louise Bourgeois, December 25, 1911 – May 31, 2010 was a French-born American artist and sculptor. Her most famous works are possibly the spider structures, titled Maman, from the last dozen years.

Quebec Fires 50 Wildfires Are Burning

The fire is at this time uncontrollable – although the situation has improved., fire protection agency Sopfeu spokesman, Marcel Trudel, said: “It was infernal, we’re up against a real monster,” he added that the flames are massive with height s of up to 30 meters! In the meantime, smoke form the fire has reached Ontario and Montreal.


The winds are also steering smoke from the fires southeastward into the St. Lawrence Valley and northern New England.


About 51 fires are burning across the province, according to fire information officer Melanie Morin, and nine of those are considered out of control.


The Maine Forest Service has sent 21 firefighters to Quebec to help battle the forest fires. Manitoba also sent two water bombers.


In the Quebec area around 50 wildfires are burning of Canada and the wind is helping them spread to New England. Meanwhile, the fires have created a smoky haze in many parts surrounding Quebec. The haze and the smell of smoke spread as far as Kemptville and Merrickville.

The NCAA’s Catastrophic Injury Insurance Program has been extended for all member institutions through August 1, 2013.


Every team that makes the 2010 NCAA Baseball Tournament is placed into a four team grouping. Within those four teams is a double-elimination tournament, where one team emerges to play in the Super Regionals or basically the second round. Just 16 teams emerge from the Regionals, and just eight teams emerge from the Super Regionals to make up the final field of eight teams that will play for the 2010 College Baseball World Series.

Quebec Fires Blazes Are Still Out Of Control

The forest fire protection agency in Quebec, SOPFEU, stated the number of fires burning across Quebec totaled 52 this morning. Nine of these blazes are still out of control.

The majority of the fires are charring acres north of the heavily populated St. Lawrence Valley. The highest concentration of fires is across central Quebec.

While that is an improvement over the 16 that were out of control on Friday, high winds will likely challenge firefighters to make headway on the others, Morin said.

"Today it really will be the wind," Morin told CTV News Channel Saturday morning in a telephone interview from Maniwaki, Que.

"Mother Nature has a great role in fire activity. Tomorrow we are supposed to get lighter winds and by Monday hopefully some precipitation. So if we get through today then after that we should be getting some help from Mother Nature."

The forest fire protection agency of Quebec, SOPFEU, said in the morning that the number of wildfires in the Quebec area was 52, some of this fires are still totally out of control.

While none of the nearby residents are at risk since those who live in the blazes’ vicinity had been evacuated, other residents complained of heavy smoke and ash which were drifting toward the Quebec-Montreal corridor.

There are more than 50 forest fires burning in Quebec, including eight that remain out of control. About 40,000 hectares of forest have been ravaged over the last week, while residents of one central Quebec community have been evacuated.

Pakistani court lifted a ban on Monday on Facebook

The Lahore High Court imposed the ban almost two weeks ago amid anger over a page that encouraged users to post images of Islam’s Prophet Muhammad. Many Muslims regard depictions of the prophet, even favourable ones, as blasphemous.

LAHORE, Pakistan – A Pakistani court lifted a ban on Facebook on Monday after officials from the social networking site apologized for a page deemed offensive to Muslims and removed its contents, said a top information technology official.

“In response to our protest, Facebook has tendered their apology and informed us that all the sacrilegious material has been removed from the URL,” said Najibullah Malik, secretary of Pakistan’s information technology ministry, referring to the technical term for a Web page.

Facebook assured the Pakistani government that “nothing of this sort will happen in the future,” said Malik.

Officials from the website could not immediately be reached for comment. They said earlier the contents of the “Everybody Draw Mohammed Day!” page did not violate Facebook’s terms.

The page encouraged users to post images of the prophet to protest threats made by a radical Muslim group against the creators of the American TV series “South Park” for depicting Muhammad in a bear suit during an episode earlier this year.

The controversy sparked a handful of protests across Pakistan, many by student members of radical Islamic groups. Some of the protesters carried signs advocating holy war against Facebook for allowing the page.

Bangladesh also decided to block Facebook on Sunday but said it would restore access to the site if the offensive material was removed.

It is not the first time that images of the prophet have sparked anger. Pakistan and other Muslim countries saw large and sometimes violent protests in 2006 when a Danish newspaper published cartoons of Muhammad, and again in 2008 when they were reprinted. Later the same year, a suspected al-Qaida suicide bomber attacked the Danish Embassy in Islamabad, killing six people.

As of midmorning Monday, access to Facebook inside Pakistan was still restricted. But users outside the country confirmed the page that sparked the recent uproar was no longer accessible.

Anger over the incident also prompted the government to block access to YouTube, saying there was growing sacrilegious content on the video sharing website. The government restored access to YouTube last week but said it would continue to block videos offensive to Muslims that are posted on the site.

Pakistani government officials are waiting for a written court order lifting the ban before they advise Internet service providers to restore access to the site, said Malik.

We put together a list of recent games and several past favorites that all run decently on less-powerful hardware. We tested all the games on two systems: an Athlon XP 3200+ system with a DirectX 8-compatible AGP Radeon 9250 video card and 256MB of system memory, and an Athlon 64 2800+ system with a PCI Express DirectX 9 GeForce 6200 video card and 256MB of system memory. Even though both of our test systems had weak CPUs and underpowered video cards, we found that limiting our system memory to 256MB hurt game support the most. Games like World of Warcraft become unplayable with such a small amount of memory, because the system slows to a crawl as it thrashes the hard drive to load information that would normally sit within system memory.

Iindy 500 Start Time, QUALIFYING RESULTS AND START Grid – SCHEDULE FOR THE 2010 INDIANAPOLIS 500

Many racing fans feel that Memorial Day weekend is the best weekend for auto sports as the Indy 500 and Coca-Cola 600 in Charlotte provide some very entertaining racing.

The “push-to-pass” is an 8-second power boost between 5-20 horsepower for the engine. Each driver is allowed to use the push to pass button, located on the uppoer right side of the steering wheel, up to 15 times during the race. The button is also called the “overtake button.”

The 2010 NBA Playoff schedule will be announced after the final season's games, beginning with announcement of the official roster on Thursday, April 15 at 3PM ET — leading to a scramble for NBA Playoff tickets that go on sale shortly after — for the hottest NBA basketball games of the year.

The 2010 NBA Playoffs is the postseason for the National Basketball Association's 2009–10 season. The playoffs started on April 17, 2010 with ABC, ESPN, ESPN2, TNT, and NBA TV broadcasting the games in the United States. Eight teams from each of the league's two conferences qualified for the playoffs, all seeded 1 to 8 in a tournament bracket, with all rounds in a best-of-seven format.

Early predictions for the postseason have already given the Lakers a back-to-back title win, giving Kobe Bryant his fifth ring. However, many feel this could be the year that Lebron James finally gets his. James and the Cavs are on a mission, and this time around Lebron has the help of Shaquille O'Neal. They've also got the services of Antawn Jamison who was added during the season's trades. It could very well be a Lebron vs Kobe finals and that would be quite a matchup to watch!

There's plenty of great players to watch in the 2010 NBA playoffs, including super sophomore Kevin Durant, Carmelo Anthony, rookie star Brandon Jennings of the Bucks, Dirk Nowitski of the Mavs and Dwight Howard of the Magic. Also don't count out prolific passer Steve Nash of the Suns and his counterpart Amare Stoudamire in the Western Conference playoffs.

Indy 500 Schedule Still Will Offer Three Full Weekends

The streamlined schedule still will offer three full weekends of on-track action for fans while producing efficiencies for Indianapolis 500 teams and IMS. The "500" followed a two-week format from 1998-2000.

"We're pleased with the schedule because it provides fans plenty of opportunities to enjoy the excitement of a day at the Speedway while being responsive to the requests of our race teams," said Jeff Belskus, Indianapolis Motor Speedway Corporation president and chief executive officer. "We look forward to another memorable month of May in Indianapolis."

The Indy 500 is tomorrow and many fans are exciting about this sporting events. Diehard racing fans are likely to search for the Indy 500 starting grid, qualifying results and start time. Borchard was a tremendous college athlete at Stanford, and the White Sox selected him with the 12th pick of the 2000 Draft. However, like a lot of great athletes, he really wasn’t that much of a baseball player, and he hasn’t had much of a Major League career.

He’s 31 this year, but with John Bowker continuing to struggle in San Francisco, there’s a real possibility that Borchard will get his first Major League service time since 2007 this season.

Ryan Rohlinger is hitting .333 with a .948 OPS, but he’s got no place to play in San Francisco unless Pablo Sandoval gets hurt.

Meet Jennifer Bunney, Heidi Montag-Pratt’s friend and reality show co-star. Heidi Montag is reportedly set to move in with a gal-pal while the two film a new reality TV show this summer. The plastic surgery-obsessed blonde, who is apparently separating from husband Spencer Pratt, is planning on becoming an independent woman.

Montag wants to focus on her acting career, even bidding to star in the next Transformers movie.
She is now moving in with her friend Jennifer Bunney while the two film their upcoming show.
“Heidi and I are moving into a Malibu beach house this summer,” Bunney told the website.
“We’re really excited to do girly things and show people who we really are and that we’re really fun, sweet and loyal girls.”

Now that Jen is on speaking terms with both Lauren and Heidi, she's playing the neutral friend, all while stirring the pot by bringing up that tired old sex-tape scandal. Since she managed to get so much screen time on last night's episode, with all the lunches she went on (seriously, all these people do is eat in restaurants), we got to really take in the work she's had done on her nose. A welcome addition to previous histories of one of the most crucial battles ever fought by Americans.-John Toland, author of Battle: The Story of the Bulge and Adolf Hitler.

But on December 16, with the onset of winter, the German army launched a counteroffensive that was intended to cut through the Allied forces in a manner that would turn the tide of the war in Hitler's favor. The battle that ensued is known historically as The Battle of the Bulge. The courage and fortitude of the American Soldier was tested against great adversity. Nevertheless, the quality of his response ultimately meant the victory of freedom over tyranny.

The Ardennes Offensive (16 December 1944 – 25 January 1945) was a major German offensive (die Ardennenoffensive), launched towards the end of World War II through the densely forested Ardennes Mountains region of Belgium (and more specifically of Wallonia: hence its French name, Bataille des Ardennes), France and Luxembourg on the Western Front. The Wehrmachts code name for the offensive was Unternehmen Wacht am Rhein (in English: "Operation Watch on the Rhine"), after the German patriotic hymn Die Wacht am Rhein. This German offensive was officially named the Ardennes-Alsace campaign[3] by the U.S. Army,[17] but it is known to the English-speaking general public simply as the Battle of the Bulge. The "bulge" was the initial incursion the Germans put into the Allies' line of advance, as seen in maps presented in contemporary newspapers.

In Battle of the Bulge, Bone Crusher (VH1’s Celebrity Fit Club Winner) leads plus-size viewers through a complete workout that they can do while in a seated or standing position. Usa vs Turkey A Friendly Overview

The match against Turkey marks the USA’s first meeting against the 2002 FIFA World Cup third-place finishers on home soil. The First True Test

One thing we should see today is Carlos Bocanegra at left back after Bradley all but annointed the U.S. captain as his starting left back on Friday. With Bocanegra at left back, that leaves Oguchi Onyewu, Jay DeMerit and Clarence Goodson to man the centerback slots. Goodson has played himself into the conversation and stands a good chance of starting if Oguchi Onyewu has any issues with his knee.

Easy Rider Was a Fantastic Film By Dennis Hopper

Hopper fell ill last September, but continued working, both on the show "Crash" and on a book showcasing his photography. His final months were also consumed by a bitter divorce battle with his fifth wife, Victoria Duffy. Hopper has had quite a career, starting in everything from Cool Hand Luke to Easy Rider (which he also directed) to True Grit to Blue Velvet to True Romance to Speed to Land of the Dead to Hell Ride and so much more. He last appeared in Swing Vote and on the TV series "Crash", and has also voiced a character in Lionsgate's Alpha and Omega. We're not sure if he's attached to other upcoming projects besides that one.

Easy Rider is a 1969 American road movie written by Peter Fonda, Dennis Hopper, and Terry Southern, produced by Fonda and directed by Hopper. It tells the story of two bikers (played by Fonda and Hopper) who travel through the American Southwest and South with the aim of achieving freedom. The success of Easy Rider helped spark the New Hollywood phase of filmmaking during the late sixties. The film was added to the Library of Congress National Registry in 1998.

The success of “Easy Rider,” and the spectacular failure of his next film, “The Last Movie,” fit the pattern for the talented but sometimes uncontrollable actor-director, who also had parts in such favorites as “Apocalypse Now” and “Hoosiers.” He was a two-time Academy Award nominee, and in March 2010, was honored with a star on Hollywood’s Walk of Fame.

As its director, Dennis Hopper is usually given the lion's share of credit for the film's success, but the revelations of time suggest that the contributions of the late Terry Southern and, to some degree, Jack Nicholson have endowed the film with much of its residual power. Starring Peter Fonda as Wyatt (alias Captain America) and Hopper as Billy, it traces the hippie duo's adventures as they mount their seriously chopped hogs on a journey to find the real America en route to Mardi Gras.

Victoria Duffy Dennis Hopper’s wife could contest his will

As a biography, Victoria Cane Duffy was born in 1968 so her age is 42. On April 13, 1996 she married actor Dennis Hopper in Boston, Massachusetts. Together, they have a daughter, Galen Grier who was born in March of 2003, so her age is 6. Her husband was diagnosed with prostate cancer that spread to his bones. He filed for divorce from his fifth wife on January 14, 2010.

The actor reportedly has about a month to live due to his progressive illness. It is said that Dennis Hopper’s wife could contest his will, possibly leaving her with only a quarter of his estate. Could this be the reason behind the divorce other than “irreconcilable differences”?

Dennis' life and career was filled with ups and down as was his personality. According to http://www.nj.com, "Hopper could be weirdly paranoid (according to Peter Biskind's "Easy Riders, Raging Bulls," he once thought Francis Ford Coppola was secretly filming him). He could also be violent - raising his hand to his first two wives, and threatening to kill several colleagues."

David Huff Hospital For Several Hours

The Indians said Huff never lost consciousness or experienced memory loss. He will remain at New York-Presbyterian Hospital for several hours as a precaution.

Huff immediately fell to the ground and lay motionless on his stomach after Rodriguez's drive – on Huff's 50th pitch – hit him and ricocheted into right field for an RBI double with one out in the third inning.

Dennis Hopper Dies At the Age Of 74

Lately Mr. Hopper, who turns 74 on May 17, has been in the news again. In March his lawyer in a contentious divorce from Mr. Hopper’s fifth wife, Victoria, announced that the actor has terminal prostate cancer and was too ill to appear in court. That same week a gaunt Mr. Hopper showed up with both smiles and Jack Nicholson to receive a star on Hollywood Boulevard. Mr. Nicholson, hovering next to Mr. Hopper, was wearing a sensationally ugly shirt decorated with the stars and stripes and the image of the two doomed motorcyclists from “Easy Rider,” the movie that made Mr. Hopper a director and broke Mr. Nicholson out of B-movie irrelevance. It was a sublime, ridiculous Hollywood moment, canned and simultaneously real.

The friend suggested that tension between Duffy-Hopper and Marin Hopper, Dennis' oldest daughter from an earlier marriage, might have led the actor to move to end their nearly 14-year marriage. The friend also noted that Marin Hopper has been spending significant time at the Hopper compound in Venice, Calif. with her father and Duffy-Hopper.

"Marin is there at the house with them now, as I understand, and [Hopper] apparently wanted her to become the executor of the will," the friend said. "If he's dying in the next four weeks, what good is this going to do? It must be the money."

Dennis Lee Hopper (May 17, 1936 – May 29, 2010) was an American actor, filmmaker and artist. As a young man, Hopper became interested in acting and eventually became a student of the Actors Studio. He made his first television appearance in 1955, and appeared in two films featuring James Dean, Rebel Without a Cause (1955) and Giant (1956). Over the next ten years, Hopper appeared frequently on television in guest roles, and by the end of the 1960s had played supporting roles in several films. He directed and starred in Easy Rider (1969), winning an award at the Cannes Film Festival and was nominated for an Academy Award for Best Original Screenplay as co-writer of the film's script.

Despite being banned from Columbia, Hopper was picked up by Warner Bros., who gave him his first film break as a stand-in for James Dean and an onscreen role as an anonymous goon in “Rebel Without A Cause” (1955). Dean immediately became a mentor to Hopper, becoming a major influence on the younger player’s acting. Though not necessarily friends away from set, Hopper and Dean developed a strong relationship as student and teacher, respectively. Meanwhile, as "Rebel" became a clarion call for a generation revolting against middle-class American respectability, Dean was suddenly and tragically killed on U.S. Route 466 in Cholame, CA, leaving a nation in mourning and young Hopper devastated for many years. The loss of his mentor meant that Hopper – consciously or not – was to carry on the rebel image as his career progressed. He was seen in “Giant” (1955), Dean’s posthumously-released final feature, then appeared in several Westerns, including “Gunfight at the O.K. Corral” (1957) and “From Hell to Texas” (1958). On the latter, director Henry Hathaway broke Hopper’s spirit for improvising by making him do over 80 takes of a scene in the course of 15 hours, leaving the actor in tears and with a warning he might never work again.

Dream 14 Full Fight Card

CBSE Class X 10th Exam Results 2010 is Announced Today

The schools can also get entire school’s results by giving their school code and email-id by registering themselves on the above mentioned websites.

CBSE Class X Exam Results 2010 Will be announced on 28th May 2010 at 10.00 hrs IST by the Central Board of Secondary Education. Students can get their results once the Central Board of Secondary Education announces the results.

Students who appeared for the CBSE Class X exams in all regions will be able to check their results online after 10AM. To check the CBSE Class X exam results online, students will have to visit http://cbseresults.nic.in/.

Besides this, one can get the results by calling on National Informatics Centre number 24357270. It’s available for the local subscribers in Delhi.

Students can get their e-mail address by registering themselves on the following web sites: www.results.nic.in, www.cbseresults.nic.in, www.cbse.nic.in.

Iron Man 2 The Movie Is Hit or Flop

Downey/Stark aside, Iron Man 2 has a lot of problems. Like the later X-Men or Spiderman films, this movie has way too many characters, none of whom are particularly well developed or interesting. Gwyneth Paltrow returns as Stark’s secretary Pepper Potts, whilst Don Cheadle replaces Terrence Howard as Lt. James Rhodes, who in this film becomes Iron Man’s crime fighting partner War Machine. Paltrow does a better job than Cheadle (who is a bit stiff in some of his earlier scenes), but neither of them are given enough time to do much – the love story between Potts and Stark seems to be have put on hold since the first film and is only reintroduced five minutes before the end, while Rhodes probably could have been cut altogether (the introduction of War Machine, while pretty cool, was a pretty blatant piece of fan-service).

But wait, there’s more! With Marvel keen to build up their cinematic universe (which will eventually come together in the Avengers film, due for a release in 2012) we also get a few people popping up from various other comic series’. Samuel L. Jackson reprises his role as Nick Fury, his post-credit cameo scene from the Iron Man 1 expanded into one where he appears, offers exposition, renders a large part of Iron Man’s character conflict irrelevant and then disappears before you can say “spin-off”. Meanwhile, Scarlett Johansson appears as a character named tight leather jumpsuit wearing ass kicking girl...or at least that’s what I called her in my head, as it’s basically the only thing she does in the film.

The video is impressive not only for its high production values, intense CGI animation and hilarious Iron Baby vs. stuffed bunny terrorist action, but also its cuteness as brought to life by blooming actress Marguerite Bulte Boivin. That's right, Iron Baby is an Iron Lady. You've got some competition, Rescue.



In its best moments, and pretty much all of them were best moments, the original Iron Man felt like a direct extension of its main character, snazzy and charming and way smarter than it lets on. It's probably a bad sign, then, that Iron Man 2 opens not with the dashing and magnetic Tony Stark, but with blue-filtered cinematography and a crashing, Dark Knight-reminiscent score as we meet Ivan Vanko (Mickey Rourke), the Russian crazyperson who may as well have the word "VILLAIN" strewn in among his many tattoos.

Unfortunately it's another solid forty five minutes before we reach the next action scene, and it's a colossal misstep that throws the entire film off its game. Tony's military pal Rhodey (Don Cheadle now, Terrence Howard last time) is fed up with his friend's drunken antics and shows up at Tony's birthday party to reclaim the suit, but Tony is too busy DJ-ing in his suit and doing party trick. I won't spoil the details, but you probably already know that War Machine makes an appearance in this film, and well...you see where this is going.
