IPL Auctions 2011 The fourth season of the Indian Premiere League (IPL) 2011 is taking place today, 8 January and 9 January in Bangalore. In totality there are 10 teams (franchises) are bidding for the 350 players.
The player’s auction for IPL 4 is being televised live on Set Max, which is a channel of Sony Entertainment Television. This is the first time ever that the IPL auction is being telecasted live on the TV. This time, two new franchises adds up in IPL season 4 are the Sahara Pune Warriors and Kochi.
The IPL is a domestic professional Twenty20 cricket match in India. It was started by the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI. It was started after an argument between the BCCI and the Indian Cricket League.
No takers for former captain of Indian team and KKR idol player Sourav Ganguly and there is also no taker for Chris Gayle in the first round of auction. Delhi Daredevils take on Irfan Pathan for a handsome amount of $1.9 million.
