Jacqueline Fernandez broke the ice with Emraan Hashmi

Jacqueline Fernandez likes to talk. And she makes no bones about it. So it was to her shock she discovered that her co-star in Murder 2, Emraan Hashmi is a much quieter fellow than she had anticipated.

“When you meet him first, he comes across as a lot quieter than what you would imagine. In films he looks like someone who is quite casual with a gift of the gab. However, in real life, he doesn't interact much,” Jacqueline revealed in an interview to a news agency.

“This left me wondering how both of us would manage to work with each other as I talk so much. I was like 'Oh my God, would I have to keep my mouth shut for most of the times on sets',” she added.

Fortunately for the 26-year-old actress, a photo shoot was held for the two before the film went on floors. This broke the ice between the two and though they didn't quite become thick friends after that, it became a comfortable professional relationship.
“Emraan has an extremely good sense of humour and makes you laugh in the most tense moments. In fact I was amazed at the manner he was kept his cool and was so chilled out even in adverse situations,” said Jacqueline Fernandez.

Salman Khan is on a roll. His last two films Dabangg and Ready are among the all-time blockbusters of Indian film industry and his acting fee has understandably shot up to a level that makes him the highest paid actor in Bollywood.

Buzz is that producer Boney Kapoor has shelled out a whopping Rs 10 crores to sign Salman Khan for the sequel of No Entry. The film is titled No Entry Mein Entry and will be directed by Anees Bazmee, director of ‘No Entry’ and also of ‘Ready’.

The project has been through a lot of teething problems due to differences between Boney Kapoor and Anees Bazmee. The latter apparently leaked the film’s original script to Sajid Nadiadwala who made Thank You out of it. Even Bazmee and Salman reportedly had a tiff while filming Ready in Bangkok.

Delhi Belly censor board problem with Pakistan

Aamir Khan productions’ new release Delhi Belly has not been cleared by the Pakistan censor board. The film was slated to release in Pakistan on Friday.

According to a PTI report, the Facebook message posted by Atrium Cinema, a leading cinema in Karachi, states that the film has not got a censor clearance.

“It has just been notified by the distributors of film 'Delhi Belly' that Central Board of Film Censors, Islamabad, have not passed the film for public exhibition. Thus, the film will not be released in cinemas in Pakistan,” the message read.

While there has been no official clarification as to why the film wasn’t granted a clearance, its explicit adult content could be one of the reasons why the Pak censor board found it unfit for public viewing.

Delhi Belly has a liberal use of abuses and even some explicit, adult-rated content. The film has been granted an ‘A’ (Adults Only) certificate by the Indian censor board.

While the release of Delhi Belly has been halted in Pakistan, the other new release Bbuddah - Hoga Terra Baap will release as scheduled.

It took a while to get into it and put our friendship aside. It's quite full-on, a proper snog. We're soaking wet as well - they dumped gallons of water on us and then we just went for it. We laughed a lot and it took us a while to concentrate. We did it about four times.”

Salman Khan not hosting Bigg Boss 5

The demand for Salman Khan has never been so high. Following the back-to-back successes of Dabangg and Ready which are among the all-time blockbusters in Bollywood history, producers have been queuing up to sign Salman, but he’s so hard-pressed for time that he has to turn down a lot of offers.

The latest, we hear, is that Salman Khan has expressed his inability to host the fifth season of the telly show ‘Bigg Boss’ because he’s too much wound up in film commitments. Salman was the host of Bigg Boss 4 last year and his presence helped the show score good telly ratings.

But a slew of Bollywood projects in Salman’s kitty make it almost impossible for him to squeeze out time for ‘Bigg Boss 5’. Here’s a quick lowdown: Salman is busy with films like Bodyguard with Kareena Kapoor and Ek Tha Tiger with Katrina Kaif. After that he will commit to good friend Sajid Nadiadwala’s film Kick, brother Sohail Khan’s Sher Khan and, of course, Dabangg 2.

Since it has been announced that Ash is not a part of the film anymore, buzz suggested that the film might be shelved and Madhur could consider shooting the movie with some other actress. Rumours stated that Priyanka Chopra had shown keen interest in replacing Aish and even sms’ed Madhur to cast her!

However, Priyanka Chopra dismissed all rumours and wrote on a social networking website: “read some stupid article about how i wanna do @mbhandarkar268 s (Madhur Bhandarkar) film HEROINE..i think madhur is an amazing director and it'll be amazing to work together again but GUYS this one aint it!!! Comedy works at box office. Now, that’s a serious observation again verified by the good opening-day response to the Friday’s release Double Dhamaal.

Though panned by majority of critics, the film opened very well at box office on Friday. At certain theatres, it ran to packed houses while at others it attracted a good number of bums on seats. Going by the trade figures, the film saw a response averaging 70 percent on its opening day. It is likely to go up on Saturday and Sunday, as is usually the trend.

The coming Friday would see the release of two important films: Delhi Belly and Bbuddah - Hoga Terra Baap. Both the films are expected to get a good opening.

So the ‘original idiot’ Bharat Bhushan (Vinay Pathak) is back, and he’s not rounding up the tax evaders but, true to his nature, molesting the memorable melodies of Shankar Jaikishan and S.D. Burman. He wins a TV quiz show after correctly answering ‘brain-wracking’ questions like “how many percent of Indian men don’t wear underwear?” and, as a reward, goes on a cruise trip with the show’s co-ordinator Ranjini (Minissha Lamba).

In the past, several gangster films have proven wrong the critics who think that only light-hearted comedies are favoured by the audiences. Is Bhindi Baazaar Inc also such a gangta film? Well, partly yes and partly no.

The film starts with a chess game played between Tez (Gautam Sharma) and Shroff (Kay Kay Menon). Now, this game of chess needs a special mention because it is a leitmotif in the film. The story is unveiled with each move played on the chess board.

Bhindi Bazaar Inc is basically a film about two pickpocket gangs fighting to prove their supremacy. The first gang is led by Mamu (Pawan Malhotra) whereas the other one is led by Pandey (Piyush Mishra). In midst of their journey for supremacy what follows is the tale of friendship, deception, lies, and love.

The kids who never got a chance to study in a school but got literate enough to read this review, Always Kabhi Kabhi could have that other-worldly charm that Disneyland may have for a Martian. But those who have lived and loved the school life to the hilt, Always Kabhi Kabhi is not even a trip down memory lane, back into the school campus and corridors when you secretly eyed the girl or boy you had a crush on and, if lucky, went on to win their love.

Director Roshan Abbas’ film Always Kabhi Kabhi deals with the issues that every teenager has grappled with: parental pressure, first crushes, teen anxieties, insecurities, follies, and the eventual stepping into adulthood. And all this is done in such an old-school way that despite the myriad topics the film tries to touch upon, it merely skims the surface without making any impact. Putting succinctly, it speaks much, says little.

With the exception of the Giselle Monteiro’s gentle Aishwarya, almost every character is verbose. Leading the bratpack is Nandini (Zoa Morani) the bull, or the bully who none wants to mess with. She is a rich spoilt girl with strained relationship with her parents. On the opposite end is Tariq (Satyajeet Dubey), the geek encumbered with stifling expectations of his father who wants him to top the school and enter MIT. Then there is the ‘who-cares?’ dude Sameer (Ali Fazal) caught up in a mess with corrupt cops. And there’s the sweet and beautiful Aishwarya (Giselle Monteiro) whose mother wants her to be Miss India some day.

Bollywood heartthrob Ranbir Kapoor is in the hill station of Darjeeling, shooting for director Anurag Basu’s film Barfee with south actress Ileana.

The film has Ranbir Kapoor playing a deaf and mute character. Priyanka Chopra and Ileana play the two women in his life. The shooting in Darjeeling is underway with Ranbir and Ileana DCruz. Priyanka is supposed to join the crew later during the shoot in Kolkata, but that may not happen because director Anurag Basu is thinking of postponing the Kolkata schedule for the fear that it might be hit by the oncoming monsoon rains.

In fact, the shoot in Darjeeling itself hasn’t been going smooth. Hundreds of onlookers have been gathering on the sets to watch Ranbir and Ileana shoot, making it difficult for the cast and crew to do their job.

Things came to a head on Thursday morning when a brawl broke out between the locals and the crew. Consequently, director Anurag Basu is thinking of returning to Mumbai and resuming the shoot inside the studios.

New 'Harry Potter And The Deathly Hallows, Part 2' Movie Review

The trailer opens with a distraught Lily Potter (Harry's mom) speaking to her infant son. "Harry, be safe," she says in a strained whisper. "Be strong." Cut to the words "Every moment he's lived has led to this," before an eerie voice-over by evil Dark Lord Voldemort comes in over flashback scenes of key moments in several of the previous seven films.

"Harry Potter, you have fought valiantly," Voldemort sneers. "Now join me, and confront your fate."

From here on out, much like the action in the second half of J.K. Rowling's seventh Potter book, things get very intense. There are flashes of Voldemort in several states of mind and presence, all of them ferocious and teeming with dark force.

Charismatic Aishwarya Rai attended the 162nd Prix de Diane horse racing event, in Chantilly, north of Paris. She represented the Swiss watch major ‘Longines’ at the event since she is their brand ambassador.

Aishwarya was dressed for the occasion in a peach ensemble with an elaborate hat. She paired the Elie Saab dress with a sequined loose jacket. Though the loose jacket made her look bigger than she actually is, the colour looked very beautiful on her. Aishwarya was also captured signing autographs for her fans.

Meanwhile, Aishwarya has just begun filming Madhur Bhandarkar’s film - Heroine in Mumbai. Heroine was announced at Cannes Film Festival on May 13 and will be filmed in a 45 day schedule.

Salman Khan’s Ready unstoppable at box office

New releases fail to dent the box office collections of 'Ready'

Competition is scared of Salman Khan. Filmmakers have flinched at the thought of releasing their movies not just alongside Ready but even a week before or after. And those who have braved the competition have found fewer footfalls coming their way, this Friday’s release Shaitan being the case in point.

Produced by Anurag Kashyap, Shaitan opened to a rather poor 20 to 25 percent response at theatres. Even the flattering reviews by critics failed to see more seat bums in theatres.

The crowds continued to be drawn to Ready, which though panned by the critics, is minting money like there’s no tomorrow. First it became the second highest grosser of the opening weekend (second only to Salman Khan’s own Dabangg), now it has rounded off its first-week collection with a figure of Rs. 69.50 crores, thereby taking the third position on the list of all-time first-week collections of Bollywood films.

Aishwarya Rai will not attend IIFA Awards this year!

Hubby Abhishek Bachchan confirms that he and Aishwarya will skip IIFA in Toronto

They are no longer part of the IIFA event. Though the Bollywood’s smashing jodi Abhishek Bachchan and Aishwarya Rai has given some outstanding and memorable dance performances on IIFA stage, they are not going to perform at the award function in Toronto this year. So, that entire buzz that Aishwarya will be at IIFA is nothing but hogwash.

Recently a Toronto magazine allegedly used Aishwarya Rai’s name in an IIFA related story. The magazine Toronto Life had Aishwarya’s photograph on the cover which said “Toronto is hosting the Bollywood’s Oscar with celebs like Aishwarya Rai.”

Abhishek Bachchan, much aware of the all the IIFA hype and hoopla, decided to clear the air. Bachchan Junior tweets, “Just to clarify….Neither Aishwarya nor I will be performing or attending IIFA Toronto, classic case of jumping the gun!”

Shaitan - Movie Review

However morbid or mawkish, violent or vacuous -- looks beautiful in slow motion. Fatal accidents happening in slow motion, bottles smashed broken on people’s faces, jaws fist-clobbered in dilated time. Everything dark and morose gets an intriguing appeal when shot on overcranked camera, which director Bejoy Nambiar’s film Shaitan relies on more often than not.

With an overt nod to producer Anurag Kashyap’s cinema (Kashyap’s long-canned film Paanch in particular), Nambiar (also the co-screenwriter with Megha Ramaswamy) spins a tale of drugged debauchery and delinquency of paanch friends in Mumbai.

There’s Amy (Kalki Koechlin) a disturbed NRI still coming to grips with the shock of her mother’s death at an early age. There’s Dushyant (Shiv Pandit), a drug peddler with devil-may-care attitude. There’s the rich and reckless KC (Gulshan Devaiya). There’s Tanya (Kirti Kulhari), a reluctant model and actress with a crush on KC. There’s the geek and freak Zubin (Neil Bhoopalam)

Kid Rock and Sheryl Crow ‘Collide’ Onstage at 2011 CMT Music Awards

2011 CMT Awards host Kid Rock handles the gig in a way where he doesn’t take himself too seriously. That’s probably why he is so effective at steering this ship and was brought back for a second year. The singer earned his keep, though, pulling double duty by performing ‘Collide’ with Sheryl Crow, in what was a quiet, tender moment smack dab in the middle of the show.

Up until this point, the CMT Awards had been upbeat and twangy, but Kid Rock and Crow turned the tables a bit and dosed the show with a sensitive duet. The twosome will spend the summer touring together, so maybe this performance will serve as a pre-amble of things to come on the road!

The pair sat perched atop stools on the stage, turned into each other. Kid Rock wore a backwards trucker cap and jeans, while the leggy Crow looked fresh in a crisp white shirt. It’s their opposite looks and styles that make their duets so compelling and believable. They enjoy that whole yin and yang thing when they perform. Both have toed the line in multiple genres throughout their careers, with Kid Rock trafficking in rap, rock and country, and Crow pogo-ing between rock, country, pop or some variation of the three … and that’s why we can’t look away when they ‘Collide.’

Box Office Report - Ready rakes in a humongous Rs 40 crores

‘Ready’ becomes the second biggest opener after ‘Dabangg’
It can’t get better than this! Ready has become the second biggest Bollywood opener after Dabangg. The movie got off to a flying start on Friday with a nett collection of Rs 13.15 crore and rounded off the weekend with a business of approx Rs 40.65 crore.

Though the critics have slammed the movie, the masses are loving it. The break down for the first three days is as follows: on Friday the collection was Rs 13.15 crore, on Saturday it was approx Rs 12.25 crore, and on Sunday the collections triggered up to Rs 15.25 crore. Whoa! Do we see the distributors laughing their way to the bank? Not yet!

Coming to another winner at BO, it’s the small-budget film Pyaar Ka Punchnama. The movie has gained tremendous popularity, thanks to the word-of-mouth publicity. Now, the movie is running at limited multiplexes with less number of shows but its collections are steady. In its second week, Pyaar Ka Punchnama collected approx Rs 3.50 crore. The two-week total is around Rs 9 crore which is good for a film like Pyaar Ka Punchnaama.
