Taking the promotions of his dream project Ra.One to a new level, Shahrukh Khan on Monday launched a custom-built Ra.One channel on YouTube.

As a result of SRK’s tie-up with YouTube, he can use the movie channel on YouTube to offer videos of all the events related to the film, like the Ra.One premiere, red carpet events planned in London, behind the scene shots, uncut footage of the star cast, and even his own musings.

The movie channel will also host games and give chance to users to create their own promos from clips, music and dialogues of the film. It’s an interactive concept.

Talking about the concept, Shahrukh told the reporters in Mumbai: “This concept goes well with my Ra.One as the film is about digital world...computer and all. So how’s it looking for Tom Cruise Jr? Well, the projections, they’re ranging from as low as $7 million to a very optimistic $15 million. But no one thinks it’ll get higher than 4th place. What? But what about the power of the 12 year old girl? Well, the critics aren’t 12. And the critics... they are not being kind:

This has always been my problem with Lautner. It’s that trained earnestness. Being earnest authentically is a fine quality in a human being. It’s a very, very weird quality in a packaged automatic Hollywood money machine who doesn’t actually know what real feelings feel like. Having said that, I am not 12. Taylor Lautner’s problem going forward though is whether or not he’ll ever be able to move beyond appealing to a 12 year old. Justin Bieber looks to have a better chance of this than he does right now.

Some love stories may be timeless, but that doesn’t mean that the teller of such tales should have scant regard for the time of the audience. Pankaj Kapur, who, as an actor, has all my respect, spins a never-ending, forever meandering yarn called Mausam that unspools over a period of 10 years, through many seasons, half a dozen cities and gaons, and four historical events before mercifully culminating after three good hours of our patience test. One could be forgiven for thinking that a whole darned mausam passed by outside as one sat cooped up in the theatre through this bum-achingly long saga where ages pass before the muted lovers utter their first expression of affection.

Clearly, Mausam is a film belonging to the old world romance, where the lovers spend a good part of their dalliance watching each other from a distance, and when they do meet they communicate through sweet musings doodled on chits of paper. One can’t say how much this film will appeal to the Facebook generation where relationship statuses change overnight and those ‘three special words’ and much more is said and shared without even being fully sure that the person on the other end is indeed the one in the profile pic.

So you see a young Punjabi munda Harrinder aka Harry (Shahid Kapoor) cycling through the puddles of his village Mallukot and chewing on sugarcane with his buddies in sarson ke khet before he is hit by the thunderbolt called love when he sees a preternaturally tall but decidedly cute Aayat (Sonam Kapoor), a Muslim girl from Kashmir. Obviously Harry woos and serenades the Kashmiri kudi but their love story is nipped in the bud, thanks to the first historical event, the demolition of the Babri Mosque. Mausam one over!

Kate Winslet and Downton Abbey were among the big winners at the Emmy Awards, making it a successful night for British TV talent.

Winslet was honoured for her lead actress role in Mildred Pierce, while ITV1's hit period drama picked up four gongs, including best mini-series and a best supporting actress award for Dame Maggie Smith.

Dressed in a glamorous red gown, an emotional Winslet dedicated the award to her mother, and said: "I didn't think we were going to win anything." Winslet, who already has an Oscar and a Grammy, beat stars including Downton Abbey's Elizabeth McGovern and Upstairs Downstairs veteran Jean Marsh to her trophy.

The 63rd Primetime Emmys ceremony saw Mad Men win its fourth consecutive best drama series award, while Modern Family claimed its second best comedy trophy.

MTV News reached out to Pattinson's rep, who told us, "The report is untrue. He is not working on an album right now."

The John Martin Pompeii Beautiful painting finally restored after 1928 Tate flood damage

A painting considered beyond repair after being submerged in filthy floodwater when the Thames breached its banks in 1928 will be seen in something approaching its wild and lurid former glory on Tuesday when it goes on public display for the first time in a century.

After 18 months of difficult restoration, John Martin's Destruction of Pompeii and Herculaneum forms part of the biggest ever exhibition devoted to the apocalyptic 19th century painter.

The show's curator, Martin Myrone, said the work had been somewhat overlooked and dismissed by writers and its restoration meant "we can now see it as a really central picture in Martin's output and an extraordinarily vivid and exciting work".

After getting soaked in the Tate's worst ever flood, the work had been considered a writeoff. Not only was it flaking and dirty, it was in two parts, with a large part of the canvas, showing the volcano, missing completely.

But there was some good news when tissue was pulled away from the painting in 2010, recalled Tate's head of conservation, Patricia Smithen. "Amazingly, the surface was really intact and the figures in the foreground particularly were in really great condition. Shockingly so. It was at that point we started asking if we could undertake a restoration."

The creators of the movement had this to say about Gethin:
We found it so important to have Gethin’s support because of his groundbreaking character on screen and his advocacy as a straight ally off screen. So important that the PSA was actually filmed by SBNN co-founder Avan Jogia himself while traveling in London to make sure we were able to get it filmed in time for the Emmys.

Salman Khan seems to have learnt how to keep secrets from the fourth estate. The superstar is now linked with a pretty Romanian news presenter Iulia Vantur, who has visited India twice and admits to have befriended Salman.

A Romanian magazine has let the cat out of the bag by claiming that Iulia and Salman have been in constant touch ever since they met.

Shahrukh Khan is often known to be cordial with the media but a question posed to him at the music launch of Ra.One irked the superstar.

Shahrukh’s jolly mood at the music launch of his dream project Ra.One was somewhat sullied by a question regarding the absence of Priyanka Chopra who has a guest appearance in the film. Priyanka and Sanjay Dutt (he too has a cameo in the film) did not attend the music launch.

When asked why Priyanka had skipped the event, Shahrukh almost insulted the reporter in his reply.

“There's Sanjay Dutt too in the film and even he hasn't come. I am glad that Sanjay and Priyanka didn't come nahin toh unhe tumhare sawaalon se sharminda hona padta,” Shahrukh is reported to have said.

If Shahrukh Khan slipping into a Rs. 1 crore superhero suit and leaping from building to building wasn’t enough, his dream project Ra.One will now boast of a breathtaking cameo by none other than the original super-duper hero: the one and only Rajinikanth.

And we hear it would be a cameo breathtaking enough to knock many a viewer off their seats. There is a scene in Ra.One where the superhero G.One is taking on a gang of baddies. Suddenly, out of nowhere another gang appears armed with deadly weapons.

The end of G.One’s jeevan seems imminent, but then drives in a super-car armed with gadgets that suck up all the weapons. When an overawed superhero G.One (SRK) asks his ladylove Kareena Kapoor who the man in the car is, the door flings open and out steps none other than RAJINIKANTH.

We hear that Rajinikanth’s special cameo for Ra.One will be filmed on October 4 at Ramoji Film City in Hyderabad.

Nikitha Ban revoked She Stated Recently

Finally, after some hue and cry from within the Kannada film industry and esteemed producer Parvathamma Rajkumar’s open denouncement of the move to ban the actress Nikitha, the ban has now been revoked.

The Kannada Film Producers Association (KFPA) had slapped a three-year ban on Nikitha for her alleged relationship with the star Darshan who is facing the accusations of domestic violence against his wife Vijayalakshmi.

Darshan in presently in hospital undergoing treatment for jaundice and asthma.

The decision of KFPA to ban Nikitha came as a shock to many. It was viewed that Nikitha was being made a scapegoat just because the producers can’t take a strong action against Darshan on whom Rs. 30 crore is riding.

Things took a turn when senior producer Parvathamma Rajkumar expressed disappointment at the ban.

Last weekend, four high-ranking NFL personnel executives, on the promise of anonymity, agreed to predict the conference champs and Super Bowl winner for the 2011 season, and all chose Aaron Rodgers and the rest of the Green Bay Packers at least to return to the Super Bowl. Two picked them to win the title, a third chose New England and the fourth San Diego.

”I think it’s the Green Bay Packers,” said one of the executives. ”They have a young football team, they have everybody back. You have a franchise quarterback. The Green Bay Packers draft well and I saw a little bit in the preseason, looks like they have another big draft coming in. A lot of guys coming back.”

"American Idol" alum Jordin delivered a flawless rendition of "The Cure" in front of the crowd packing inside the Sun Coast Hotel and Casino. She was introduced as "an extremely talented" artist by "Idol" executive producer Nigel Lythgoe.

"My Heart Will Go On" hitmaker Celine, meanwhile, kicked off her set with a heartfelt message. "It's always a privilege to be part of the MDA Labor Day telethon. I hope by taking part in this great cause, I can help MDA in its mission to make life better for families who are fighting muscle diseases," she said.

"From supporting the work of scientists who are searching for treatments and cures, to helping children go to summer camp, MDA provides love and care in so many ways. Thanks to your generous contributions, MDA can continue to do so many wonderful things for those in need."

Amitabh Bachchan going to work with Leonardo DiCaprio in Hollywood film

At 68, Amitabh Bachchan has done all kinds of films, be it comedy, action, masala, or parallel cinema. Now it’s Big B’s turn to go Hollywood. The actor will reportedly make his Hollywood debut with Baz Luhrmann's film The Great Gatsby, which also stars Leonardo DiCaprio.

Amitabh Bachchan is the latest to join the ensemble cast of the romantic drama The Great Gatsby, along with the Scottish-Australian actress Isla Fisher, the ‘Spiderman’ star Tobey Maguire, Joel Edgerton and the young British actress Carey Mulligan.

So, what is Amitabh Bachchan doing in the film? He will play the role of Meyer Wolfsheim, says an official statement from Warner Bros Pictures. The Great Gatsby is a 3D adaptation of the classic F. Scott Fitzgerald novel of the same name to be made on a budget of $125 million.

Luhrmann, who has made magnum opus Moulin Rouge, is eager to start the film with the cast soon. The principal photography of the movie began this week in Sydney. Luhrmann is also happy to shoot in Australia. The movie will be distributed in 3D as well as in 2D by Warner Bros Pictures and in certain territories by Village Roadshow Pictures.

Like a kid in a candy store, Shahrukh Khan has been brimming with excitement as the website of his much loved dream project Ra.One went online without any glitches on Thursday.

Shahrukh Khan has been celebrating Eid with his friends from the industry. The excitement of the festivities did not abate as it was replaced by the joy of seeing the official website of Ra.One online.

“And the exciting part is finally...finally the ra.one official website is working...yippee!!!
