To watch Ra.One in 2D would be like blasphemy on a holyday. Watched in 3D, the film offers an awesome visual spectacle unseen so far in any Hindi film. Kudos to Shahrukh Khan and the Ra.One team for raising the bar. So what makes Ra.One in 3D a film not to be missed? All the dope dished out ahead.

For ages now, the VFX (visual effects) in Indian cinema has teetered precariously on an edge between tacky execution and suicidal budgets. We’ve seen superheroes, albeit scarce, defy gravity and lap up levity without us failing to imagine or even ‘see’ the morphed-out cables and harnesses that got the job done. It’s taken a Shahrukh Khan, a star with deep pockets and insane ambition, to break the barrier and provide the much awaited rite of passage for the VFX to come of age on Indian screen.

Ra.One, in that sense, is a triumph even though it doesn’t have one helluva story to elicit adulation for the writers. The story, in fact, is quite childish. A video game super-villain is piqued after having lost the maiden battle to a kid (Armaan Verma). So to exact revenge, he acquires a life of his own and steps from the virtual world to the real one to kill the kid, who happens to be the son of the creator of the video game Shekhar Subramaniam (Shahrukh Khan). Even as this villain Ra.One (Arjun Rampal) wreaks havoc and assumes different guises to kill the boy, the superhero G.One (Shahrukh Khan), made in the creator’s likeness, comes to the rescue of the kid and his mom (Kareena Kapoor).

Madhur Bhandarkar was Called for hearing on 14 November

A Mumbai court Tuesday directed the National Award winner Madhur Bhandarkar director to appear on November 14 as part of a rape case by Pretti Jaiin 2004, a star to come, his lawyer said.

"He failed to appear in court at the scheduled hearing. We do not know where he is. Now, it is required to appear Nov. 14" Jaiin lawyer S. Kunjuraman told IANS.

Hrithik was recently spotted at Mumbai’s Breach Candy Hospital undergoing an MRI scan of his back. Reports say the actor was rushed to the hospital from the sets of his film Agneepath.

While shooting an action scene, Hrithik Roshan is said to have lifted a man weighing 110 kgs. Though Hrithik managed to shoot the stunt successfully, he was in severe pain afterwards. He complained of back pain and was taken to Breach Candy Hospital.

The doctors have refused to divulge the radiology report of the MRI scan but the actor has been advised complete bed rest for two weeks, meaning that the shooting schedule of Agneepath has gone for a toss.

The film, slated to release on October 26, has been cleared by the board with a U (Universal viewing) certificate by the Central Board of Film Certification. The U certificate means that the film is suitable for viewing by viewers of all ages, including children.

However, getting a U certificate wasn’t a cakewalk. Both Shahrukh Khan and director Anubhav Sinha were at the special screening of the film for the board.

RAGE PC Patch Released announced by Bethesda

Bethesda has announced that a patch for RAGE on PC has been released on Steam. He further added that the patch comes after there were a series of complaints around the net that the PC version of RAGE was near unplayable due to texture problems, which had been blamed on ATI/AMD cards. So the company decide to release the Rrage PC patch in response to the complaints they receive from Gamer's and gaming zone's.

RAGE was released in the UK October 7th on PlayStation 3, Personal Computer and Xbox 360 of Microsoft.

The Rage PC Patch includes the following:

• Implemented workaround for AMD driver crash right after intro cinematic on Win 7 32-bit systems.
• Disabled UBOs because they are causing animation issues with AMD drivers. Don’t allow swap-tear to be enabled on AMD while the extension is not exposed because it may crash.
• Support for new video settings: “texture cache”, “vsync”, and ”anisotropic filter”
• Automatically adjust vt_maxPPF based on the number of available cores.
• Improved performance for SLI cards when GPU transcode is enabled.
• Fix for GPU Transcoding option being disabled after exiting gameplay.
• Added safe mode to restore video settings to default values.

Paparazzi and well-wishers gathered Saturday at the pop icon's residence in the posh St. John's Wood neighborhood. British tabloids say the couple plans to marry Sunday and have a small reception afterward.

McCartney and Shevell posted a notice of intent to marry at London's Marylebone Town Hall in September. Officials say the announcement means they can marry any time in the next year.

The humour in Rascals is as sparse at Kangana’s clothes. Hanging by the noodle-strap thin character sketches of the two rascals -- Chetan (Sanjay Dutt) and Bhagat (Ajay Devgan) -- it swells to entertain you at times, but mostly plunges the depths of banality. Dhawan’s signature style of rhyming the dialogues to tickle you silly works only at times, and instead of an all-out laugh riot, what you get is a raggedy comedy that leans too much on the ladies’ bosom.

Chetan and Bhagat are two competing conmen who separately dupe Anthony (Arjun Rampal) on his engagement day and flee to Bangkok, where they chance upon a rich heiress Khushi (Kangana Ranaut). In no time, the rapacious rascals are up with their tricks. While Chetan impersonates as a philanthropist running the charity, The Art of Giving, Bhagat pulls a fast one on him by pretending as a blind man who served the Navy but lost his sight when betrayed by his beloved. Khushi is touched by Chetan’s charitable zeal, but Bhagat’s unfortunate handicap wins her sympathy and affection. As the two conmen try to outsmart each other in wooing Khushi and thereby claiming her millions, the plot takes an unexpected turn with the arrival of Anthony, who’s out to settle the old score with the rascals.

The camaraderie between the leading men could be the mainstay of a comedy like this and the tuning between Sanjay Dutt and Ajay Devgan isn’t exactly riotous. What’s lacking is the punch of comedy we associate with Dhawan’s best works starring his favourite Govinda. Some of the scenes -- like the bank robbery, or Devgan’s rant at Navy ball -- try too hard to make you laugh, but hardly succeed. Likewise, Devgan and Dutt’s antics to outsmart each other aren’t clever or funny.

Raunak comes to Mumbai and becomes a famous DJ but soon falls victim to his own success as he plunges headlong into a life of sex, drugs and disc consoles. The hedonistic lifestyle takes a huge toll. Raunak’s career plummets and, worse, he begins to lose his hearing ability. Soon, all the sound and raunak is gone from his life. Poof!

But then, Raunak rehabilitates and reforms, and meets Gauri (Soha Ali Khan), herself hearing impaired but an expert in lip reading. She instills Raunak with hope and inspiration. The deaf protagonist does the seemingly impossible when he begins to feel the music in other ways than hearing and comes up with a new album. Will his finished career get a new lease of life?
